Our story
Alex has a eureka moment while traveling in Guangdong province, teaches himself how to make bao from Youtube videos, and convinces Loren to join him on the Baozza journey (it didn’t take much convincing).

We learned bao making from the masters (literally; experienced bao makers are known as “baozi masters” in Chinese). Since 2016, we’ve worked closely with Chinese baozi masters to develop Baozza, from street side vendors in Beijing to world class bao facilities in Shangai, Zhejiang and Jiangsu.
As we’ve brought Baozza to commercial scale, we’ve worked with chefs, food science experts, R&D teams and deeply experienced production partners.

In 2021, we brought our creation back to the United States, setting up production in a state of the art facility in California. Our mission worldwide is to bring a better snack to freezer aisles and homes through our unique fusions of pizza and Chinese steamed bao. Today Baozza is produced and sold nationwide in both the US and China
